If I touch up my highlights will they match the rest of my hair?

My hair is naturally dark/medium blonde. I dyed it light brown a while ago, and since have used a Revlon Frost & Glow kit with the highlighting cap where I pulled my hair through, to give it highlights. It made my hair a medium/honey blonde color which I LOVE. However, my dark blonde roots are starting to grow out. They are not super noticeable, but you can definitely tell. I want to use the Revlon Frost & Glow kit again (I am a college student and cannot afford to go to a salon) but I'm afraid the ends of my hair will get TOO blonde. Any suggestions??? I'm thinking maybe leave the dye on my roots for a while, then add some to the ends. Or, just part my hair where I normally would and pull through only a few pieces at the part?
