Im light-skinned and its hard to get a tan!! Help!!?

ok, so my dads white and my moms hispanic, but im light skinned. I try tanning when going to the beach or something but i just BURN!! Im thinking of trying a tanning salon or something. what do you guys think?? Any good tanning salons?? Anyone know of any near Katy Texas that is good?? Thanks for the help :) I just really want to get some color, a good natural glow. Thanks again.
